Project and usage guides
Install RepoScape
- Download the current DMG.
- Open it and drag RepoScape into Applications.
- Open RepoScape from Applications.
- Approve access only to folders containing projects you want it to inspect.
RepoScape requires macOS 13 or later. Use an installed Codex desktop app, Claude Code, or both. Claude session discovery requires Node.js 18 or later; opening Claude chats in its desktop app also requires Claude Desktop. The current version appears beside the app title.
Connect an iPhone or iPad
Install the RepoScape companion, then click the computer-and-phone icon beside Teams and Refresh on your Mac, or choose File → Paired Devices. Personal mobile access is $2.99/month per Mac; eligible Team members are included. Subscribe or manage billing in Paired Devices on the Mac.
Create a pairing QR code or manual code, enter it on the phone or tablet, and approve that device on the Mac. Keep RepoScape running on an awake Mac with internet access. Up to eight devices can be paired to one Mac.
If the Mac appears offline, confirm it is awake and RepoScape is running. If you used Forget This Mac on the phone, use Reconnect in the Mac’s Paired Devices panel to replace that pairing with a new code. Full companion setup guide →
Folder permissions
macOS may ask for access when a project is stored in Documents, Downloads, Desktop, or another protected folder. The permission belongs to the RepoScape app. Installing updates with the same bundle identity should preserve prior decisions, although moving or replacing the app manually can cause macOS to ask again.
Missing projects
- Open or create the project in Codex, or start a Claude Code session in its folder so there is local history to discover.
- Click Refresh in RepoScape.
- Clear tag, Pinned, Unread, Processing, or Team filters that may hide the project.
- Confirm the project folder still exists and that RepoScape has permission to read it.
Connect GitHub and clone a repository
- Click the GitHub icon near Refresh, then choose Connect GitHub.
- Sign in and approve access on GitHub. Your organization may need to approve the connection before private repositories appear.
- Search by repository or owner name, select a repository, and click Use Repository.
- Choose the project name and destination folder, then create the project.
You can also choose Browse GitHub while creating a project. Pasting an HTTPS or SSH repository address remains available without connecting GitHub; it uses your Mac's existing Git credentials and SSH configuration. Disconnect GitHub from the same GitHub window.
Trouble connecting GitHub?
A blank browser tab opens after Continue: return to RepoScape, cancel the pending sign-in, close the blank tab, and try Connect GitHub again. Confirm that github.com opens normally in your browser. This issue has been reported, but its cause is not yet confirmed; it does not mean your account or repositories are missing.
GitHub is temporarily unavailable: allow the connection attempt to finish. If it still fails, wait a moment and retry. Update RepoScape using Refresh and New Version when available.
Connected, but a repository is missing: confirm you authorized the correct GitHub account and can access that repository on github.com. Private organization repositories may require approval from your organization. Refresh the repository list after access changes.
Need to get started now? Paste the repository's HTTPS or SSH URL when creating a project instead of using Browse GitHub. Private repositories still require working Git credentials or SSH access on your Mac; browser sign-in and Git cloning are separate steps.
If sign-in keeps failing, contact support with your RepoScape version, macOS version, browser version, and the step where it stops. Include any visible error, but do not send passwords, access tokens, authorization URLs, or Team Keys.
Join a Team
- Ask a Team owner or admin for the current Team Key.
- Open Teams and choose Add or Join Team.
- Enter your display name and paste the Team Key.
- Save. Shared Projects appear when at least two Team devices have repositories with matching Git identity.
The Team owner pays for the subscription. Joining with a Team Key does not start another subscription.
Manage or cancel billing
A Team owner or admin can open Teams > Settings > Manage Billing. Stripe's billing portal provides invoices, payment-method updates, and cancellation. Cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current billing period, and Team access continues until then.
Leave or delete a Team
Members can leave a Team from its Team page. Owners must transfer ownership before leaving while other members remain. A sole owner can delete the Team, which removes its Team-server data and cancels an active subscription.
Updates
RepoScape checks for updates at launch, when Refresh is clicked, and every 30 minutes while running. Select New Version to download and install the update. The app closes and reopens after installation.
Privacy and security
Review the Privacy Policy for the exact distinction between local project processing, Codex-generated work summaries, and optional Team data. Rotate a Team Key immediately if it is shared with the wrong person.
Contact support
Still need help? Tell us what happened, what you expected, and the exact error shown. Include your macOS and RepoScape versions when relevant. Do not send Team Keys, installation credentials, source code, `.env` files, or other secrets.
